This is a Table of Contents graphic for a Chemical Reviews article. The article is about optimizing chemical reactions using machines.
The client’s input was a whiteboard sketch, which we refined and organized.
We created a clear starting point on the top left of the figure, then organized the arrows to show a clear visual journey around the image. We also chose a consistent color palette to make all the elements fit together.
A challenge we faced on this scientific figure was to keep things as simple as possible while retaining the original idea, since the dimensions of the published image are very small.
